I had come across another AGB-001 and decided to give it the royal treatment as well. This time I went with a transparent smoke black shell with black buttons. I went with the same backlit Chinese reproduction screen as before. I had to be a little more carful this round as any mistakes in shaving down the transparent shell would be painfully visible. This one went up on eBay and sold for way more than it should have. I may have to do more in the future for some coin.
I recently acquired an action replay for my GameCube to unlock content region locked in the US release of F-Zero GX and found something very interesting. Back in 2003 Nintendo released an arcade machine F-Zero AX and the GameCube’s F-Zero GX simultaneously. If you plugged your memory card into the arcade machine you could unlock content for home. The two games ran off the same engine, just had different content. OR SO I THOUGHT! The F-Zero arcade game is on the GameCube disc! Through the use of an Action replay code you can boot the game in arcade mode and play the arcade game on the GameCube. That’s really cool considering the F-Zero arcade machines were produced in limited quantities and are completely non-existent today.
